WAFA

WAFA is having it's 8th World Flower Show in Japan this year. It's one of the most prestigious competition for flower designers, known as the Olympics of flower design.
I went to see the show since my mom won the honor to exhibit her work of art in the NFD(national) branch exhibition.
The show classes were divided into 21 divisions and the size of arrangements varied from large ones what might be seen in 5 star hotel grand lobby to very detailed ones you needed a pair of tweezers to arrange. The Honorary International Exhibition part was like Global Village with all the different countries expressing themselves by using unique flowers and colors of their culture.

Reminiscence

Look what I found in modern day Tokyo...If I had a little more courage I might have hopped on to get a photo in it. I wonder who actually owns this thing.

The good thing about aiesec is that so many people are bonded under the name of this organization and we are open to meet new people.I met Sandeep through one of my aiesec friends and you can see what fun we'd had.

Cherry Trees

Japanese love cherry trees. It's our national tree, our symbol.Ancient Japanese saw the beauty in its short life. Westerners were eager to invent appliances to make things last, but Japanese knew that the idea of "nothing last forever" made things around us so special.
Cold days lasted long this winter and the flowers didn't open till this week. The city -or the whole country- is now dyed in pink. The best season of the year has come.
